Antonio Patriota

Ambassador of Brazil to the United Kingdom

Antonio de Aguiar Patriota was appointed Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 2023. Previously, he was Ambassador of Brazil to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Eritrea (2019-2023); Ambassador of Brazil to Italy, Malta and San Marino (2016-2019) and Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United Nations (2013-2016). He served as Foreign Minister (2011-2013), Deputy Foreign Minister (2009-2010) and Ambassador to the United States (2007-2009). During his period as Ambassador to the UN, he was Chairman of the 60th and 61st Sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women and Chairman of the Peacebuilding Commission of the UN (2013-2014). During his diplomatic career, he was also posted in Geneva (1983-1987 and 1999-2003), New York (1994-1999), Beijing (1987-1988) and Caracas (1988-1990). Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1954, he graduated from Brazil’s Diplomatic Academy in 1979, having studied Philosophy at the University of Geneva. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Public Service by Chatham University in 2008. Among his publications are “The UN Security Council after the Gulf War” (1998) and two volumes of “Speeches, articles and interviews” during his period as Foreign Minister. Ambassador Patriota is a member of the “Leaders for Peace” initiative under the chairmanship of former French Prime Minister Raffarin. He has also been, since 2018, a member of the jury of the “Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment”. Ambassador Patriota is married to Tania Cooper Patriota, who until recently was the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Colombia. They have two sons, Miguel and Thomas.

Carla Ferreira

With over 20 years of experience in global financial institutions across Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East, Carla served as UK CEO of Banco Bradesco, one of Latin America’s largest financial groups. She has also held roles at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) – World Bank Group, in investment banking at Bradesco BBI, and in private equity in Europe and Brazil. Carla has contributed to platforms such as the World Economic Forum and the United Nations, sharing insights on cross-border investments and financial strategy. As Vice Chair of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain and a Board Trustee of Canning House, the UK’s leading forum for Latin America, she promotes international cooperation between the UK and the region in key industries, such as Fintech. She holds a BA from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), an MBA from London Business School, and executive education from Harvard Business School.

Carlos Urrutia

Carlos Urrutia leads Global International Expansion at Revolut. He joined the company three years ago to spearhead its growth strategy in Latin America—initially working on projects in Brazil and Mexico, and now expanding into Argentina, Colombia, and Peru. At Revolut, Carlos has focused on creating standardized, scalable approaches to drive efficient international growth. Before joining Revolut, he led Core Payments for Mercado Pago in Colombia, where he also oversaw the development of the company’s digital banking operations in the country. Previously, Carlos was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, working in both Boston, MA and Bogotá, Colombia. He began his career in Colombia’s Ministry of Treasury, within the financial regulation department, and later served for two and a half years as an assistant in the President’s Office. Carlos holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Law from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Chris Mayo

Chris helps companies from the Americas access capital through equity listings on London’s public markets and has helped nearly a hundred companies from the Americas to complete this journey. He is a specialist in capital raising, liquidity and exits in the small and micro-cap space, with a unique perspective spanning multiple geographies, sectors, and public and private financing/exit alternatives. He has more than 25 years of corporate finance experience in New York and London for Barclays, Salomon Smith Barney, Citi and Schroders. His expertise includes executing more than 130 transactions including IPOs, listings, financings, and M&A in the U.S. and Europe, collectively valued over $100bn. He is also currently Advisory Board Chair for a US based microcap focused technology M&A advisory firm. He holds a First Class Honours Bachelors Degree in International Business and German from Aston University, a Masters Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Nadia Costanzo

Nadia Costanzo is the Director of Banking for the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America at Wise. In this role, she spearheads market expansion in these regions by cultivating banking relationships, acquiring licenses, and collaborating with regulators on financial regulations. Before joining Wise, Nadia worked in Nairobi for Kiva, a microfinance crowdfunding platform, where she was responsible for facilitating debt financing for MFIs in Africa and developing Kiva’s technical assistance fund. Prior to that, she worked on the Universal Financial Access agenda at the World Bank, focusing on the 25 countries with the largest unbanked populations. She also contributed her expertise at a leading microfinance institution in Asunción, Paraguay.

Vishal Dalal

Vishal Dalal leads global go-to-market and product strategy for Visa’s Foundation Solutions. Significantly, this role includes operating as the international CEO (North America, EMEA, and APAC) for Pismo, a next-generation banking platform provider acquired by Visa in 2024. Vishal joined Pismo in 2021 and has spearheaded the firm’s expansion overseas into markets including the US, India, Singapore, and the UK.Before joining Pismo, he was a leader of McKinsey’s technology strategy service line for banking and financial services in Singapore, New York, and Sydney. His wealth of experience also includes heading large-scale core banking implementation projects while working at leading financial institutions, including Citigroup and Barclays.Vishal has 25+ years of experience in banking, including over a decade of advising clients on all aspects of core banking systems. He holds an MBA from India’s Indian Institute of Management.

Fernanda Garibaldi

Fernanda Garibaldi is a lawyer, holds a master ‘s and a doctorate degree from the University of São Paulo and was a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School (USA). She is a visiting professor at the postgraduate courses of Faculdade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, IBMEC and Escola Paulista de Direito, and is the author of the book: “Sistema de Pagamentos Brasileiro: regulação e concorrência”, Lumens Juris, 2023. She is currently the Executive Director of Zetta, a non-profit organization founded by Nubank and Mercado Livre. Previously, she was the Head of the banking and payment law practice at Felsberg Advogados, and her professional experience includes extensive representation of financial and payment institutions before the Brazilian Central Bank (BCB) and companies from different sectors before the Brazilian antitrust authority (CADE).

Based in London, she joined Ebury over four years ago and has witnessed the company’s transition from a European-focused payments company to a truly global business, which recently acquired a bank in Brazil. Prior to her tenure at Ebury, Lucy gained experience working in the finance team at Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman) and also at Deutsche Bank. Janine is passionate about driving transformation to create a more democratic, transparent and inclusive financial services sector for all. Her professional career has been marked by roles that sit at the intersection of policy, international relations, and industry, including senior positions at Chatham House, (the Royal Institute of International Affairs) and the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce. Pedro Barreiro

Pedro Barreiro leads the Banking unit at Nomad. He joined the company in 2024 focusing to expand and deepen the Nomad’s infrastructure and banking partnerships. In this role, he leads the company’s efforts to build a financial services infrastructure working across multiple jurisdictions and business lines. Before Nomad, he worked at Wise, Ebanx and HSBC. He has a proven track record of structuring and scaling products across Brazil, Latin America and Europe. Over the past decade, he helped the latin-american cross-border payment ecossystem to improve, providing access for millions of customers either via providing access to merchants for local payment methods and launching multi-currency account and card, working closely with regulators, partners, schemes and issuers.

Simon Davies has been closely involved with Brazil since 1997 when he moved to Curitiba to assume responsibility for Volvo’s banking and treasury activities. He set up Banco Volvo S.A. (a multiple bank) in Brazil and over the next ten years spread the concept of Volvo Financial Services throughout most of Latin America. Subsequent roles with the Rabobank group subsidiary De Lage Landen (DLL), as CCO and Board member, including Brazilian agricultural finance subsidiary Banco DLL, and then six years as Managing Director of cross-border payments at Brazilian FinTech EBANX during their fastest growth period followed, and maintained his continued involvement with the country. Currently Simon is Chair of the Financial Services Committee at the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, is Managing Director of Zappy Technology Limited, a cross border technology provider focused on real time payments to and from Brazil, is Executive Chairman of O-BAINC Technology Group, a FinTech using Artificial Intelligence to improve credit decisioning and increase financial inclusivity (whose global rollout has been initiated in Brazil) amongst other activities that ensure he remains intimately connected with the Brazilian financial services and financial technology sectors. Simon has a Master’s degree from the University of Birmingham, speaks fluent Portuguese and divides his time between his bases in Curitiba and London.

As co-CEO of Ozone API, Chris is responsible for product and delivery, with a focus on regulator relations.
